Sun Valley Outfitters operates public and private land archery and rifle mule deer hunts in units 39, 43, 44, 48 and 49. Located in some of central Idaho’s most majestic and mountainous regions, these hunts take place over the course of seven days and feature five full days of hunting in addition to a pack-in and pack-out day. Our guests have been featured in various magazines and TV shows as a result of our extremely high success rates on trophy animals. Our fully outfitted packages include transportation to and from the hunting grounds after arrival in Sun Valley, horseback transportation to camp if necessary, guiding, lodging in wall tent, backpack or private yurt camps, food, non-alcoholic beverages (BYOB) and meal preparation, field care of trophy, transport of meat/cape/antlers to the butcher and taxidermist and a good-humored positive mental attitude! Our outfitted packages do not include tag or license fees, taxidermy, butchering or shipping costs, alcohol or gratuities. Archery hunts are offered from August 29th – October 1st and can be booked as a 2×1 or 1×1 hunter/guide ratio. Camps are usually limited to groups of four unless specifically requested otherwise. General rifle deer season runs from October 10th – November 9th except for unit 44 which opens September 15th and ends October 31st. Our unit 39 guaranteed-tag velvet buck hunt opens on August 15th and runs through Septmebr 30th. Deer camps are generally limited to four hunters unless specifically requested otherwise for larger groups.
